National Night Out (NNO) is a nationwide event held annually on on the first Tuesday of August that presents an opportunity for communities to get to know their police officers and neighbors through food, games, music, and in San Diego an option to attend the night’s Padres game. The goal is to foster a safe neighborhood and stronger relationship between law enforcement and the public. This year, East Village Association and the San Diego Police Department is partnering with local businesses in the area, like Underground Elephant, to host a space to interact with police officers. Underground Elephant is happy to be apart of National Night Out and the mission behind it.
