Next up in the Start Up Talks in the Park series is Barb Fiorina, Director of Development from Meals on Wheels San Diego County. Meals on Wheels San Diego County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that delivers nutritious meals and moments of human connection to homebound seniors in San Diego County. Barb spoke to Underground Elephant employees about Meals on Wheels’ importance of collaboration with the community. Serving over 3200 seniors in San Diego County, Meals on Wheels’ partnership with local businesses and volunteers is crucial. The UE crew additionally learned how they can volunteer their time; Meals on Wheels volunteers provide not only meals to seniors, but also a daily social interaction.
